Construction Sensory Bin

My son is obsessed with construction.  Whenever we drive by an active construction site, you’d think I took the kid to Disney World.  He gets just a tad bit excited.  I wanted to do some baking today, so I had to come up with something to keep him occupied while I was in the kitchen.  The first thing that came to mind, of course, was something construction related.    Although I could’ve taken the easy way out and plopped him in front of the TV, I decided to not be the lazy mommy today.  I quickly threw together this little activity box.

You can make one too, here’s what you’ll need:

Get creative with what you add to your box, no need to run out to the store to buy anything new.  I used found objects from our playroom.  I found the little CAT trucks at Dollar Tree awhile ago.  We had the trees and bales of hay from a set of plastic toy animals.

Toddler Sensory Activity Construction SiteThis activity kept Jackson busy for about an hour.  The best part of using a food container is that I can put a lid on it and bring it out later (maybe I’ll get dinner made in peace, as well!).
