I know I can’t be the only mom overwhelmed by the amount of toys in her home. Toys in my bed, toys in my kitchen, toys on the stairs – they’re everywhere! And yet, even if he doesn’t quite understand the concept of boredom yet, my toddler sure seems to be bored a lot. As a solution for today’s boredom, I decided to go back to basics, and searched my craft supplies to come up with this activity. Using simple popsicle sticks and velcro, I was able to create hours of fun. Jackson had so much fun with this activity – we started with building houses inside and then took the sticks outside, where he connected the sticks in a long line on the porch making a “snake.”
Sometimes it’s the simple things in life that entertain us the most. I love any activity that lets my little guy use his imagination and create.
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own buildable popsicle sticks:
- Colorful craft sticks
- Velcro (to make this even easier, they make self-adhesive velcro dots)
- Hot glue gun
