At our baby showers, we receive everything we could possibly ever need for a baby. From
an endless supply of onesies, to the newest gear Babies ‘R’ Us has to offer – you can count on getting more than enough for your bundle of joy. People love to shop for babies.
But moms need stuff, too.
New mom essentials are not quite as fun to buy as baby clothes are. Take a look at my recommendations, make your own list of must-haves, and start shopping. Chances are you’ll be receiving plenty of gift cards and money. Guess what? Your baby doesn’t need another cute outfit. Use the extra cash to pick up some essentials for yourself.
Breast Pads – You can never have enough of these bad boys. Stock up when you see them on sale. This is one thing you don’t want to run out of.
Baseball Hats – When you have a baby, washing your hair becomes a luxury. Hats are your best friend in those early days (or years) of motherhood.Granola Bars – Breastfeeding makes you HUNGRY. Like really, really hungry. I love to have a variety of granola bars in the house to snack on during nighttime feedings and to throw in the diaper bag while we’re out and about.
Amazon Prime Membership – This one is a no-brainer. You can binge watch your favorite shows while having diapers (with free 2-day shipping!) delivered to your door. More precious baby bonding time for mama!
Amope – This thing is a lifesaver. Chances are, your trips to the nail salon are going to be few and far between once becoming a mama. This electronic foot file has been my saving grace when I need a quick, at-home pedicure.
Comfortable Underwear – Post-baby, the last thing you’ll want to put on is anything from Victoria’s Secret. I loved these comfy, tagless underwear after having my babies. I know, you swore you’d never buy underwear that come in a pack, but motherhood changes you, mama.
