There’s a chill to the air.  Our wardrobes have transitioned from tank tops and flip flops to sweaters and boots.  Everywhere we go, we can’t seem to escape the pumpkin spice phenomenon.  There’s just something about fall.  For me, when I think of fall, I immediately think of making memories with my family.

There’s no time of the year that encourages family bonding time more than fall.  After months of sticky humidity and freezing cold AC, it’s finally cuddle season.  Finally time to plan family trips to pumpkin patches and cider mills.  Finally time to bake cookies and make a pot of chili.  You see, there’s just something about the warmth of this season – it fills me with love.  Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice: How Fall Encourages Family Bonding Time

Of course there is a place for family time in all of the seasons.  Summer is full of family trips, reunions, and outdoor fun.  Winter, of course, is busy with holiday get-togethers.  But in fall, you can make the simplest activity into a fun family event.  Whether it’s a family trip to the local coffeehouse for pumpkin spice lattes and hot cocoa, or a walk in the park to admire the changing leaves – there are opportunities for fall family fun just about every day!

I wish it could be fall every day.  I just LOVE spending this season with my family.  I hope that each fall, that we are creating memories that my kids will remember forever and traditions that they will pass down to their own families someday.

  1. I’m like you…I think of this season as a time to make memories with my family. We like to visit pumpkin patches, zoos, and orchards. I also start baking like crazy, and we spend a lot of time outdoors playing tennis, basketball, and riding bikes. Fall is my FAVORITE season!

  2. This is my son’s first fall and holiday season, and I’m so excited to create our traditions and memories. We’ll definitely be visiting a pumpkin patch and going on a fall hike to see the leaves.
