I may live in a tiny house, but my taste in home decor is far from tiny. I love things that look and feel expensive. I also love things with sentimental value, things that have a history. The issue is that I also love saving money – everything I do, I do on a budget. So how do I decorate my home to suit my luxurious taste? I find things that please my eyes, feel good in my soul, and are easy on my wallet.
My bedroom is the perfect example of just how tiny my house is. It is tiny. Think dorm room tiny. But somehow I’ve managed to give it a cozy, yet luxurious feel. Read on to find out how I managed to do the impossible.
Sentimental vs Monetary Value
Sentimental value trumps monetary value any day. One of the ways I’ve achieved a luxurious feel in my master bedroom is by adding family heirlooms here and there. From my grandmother’s antique perfume bottles, to my most treasured books – just about every surface of my bedroom is adorned with some sort of meaningful trinket.
Statement piece of Art
Find a piece of art that speaks to you. I found this canvas in a Goodwill for $10. It just goes to show, you don’t have to spend a ridiculous amount of money to include beautiful and inspiring art in your space.
Gold equates luxury across the globe. That’s what inspired the gallery wall I created above my bed.
Luxury Throw Blanket
A quality throw blanket can completely transform your boring tiny bedroom into a luxury master suite. I’m totally in love with my faux fur throw from Saranoni. When it comes to a throw blanket, or any linens for that matter, you should always lean towards quality. This is not the area of home decor where you should focus on value. My Saranoni Lush Feather Home Throw is $69, and is totally worth every penny. Not only is it beautiful, but it is so comfy. I love curling up my throw, a book, and a cup of hot tea before bed.
I’ve partnered with Saranoni to give away a $50 store credit to one lucky mama. Head on over to my Instagram to enter. Good luck, mamas!
