If you are unfamiliar with the #howsmama campaign, here’s a recap: In February, I created the #howsmama hashtag as a way to bring attention to postpartum depression.  After dealing with PPD myself, I realized the one thing we can do to help other moms is ask them how they are.  Truly, it’s that simple.

Since the launch of #howsmama, I’ve had many friends (and even strangers) reach out to me.  They’ve told me that this is exactly what moms need to hear.  But in addition, they’ve told me their own stories.  And that is what #howsmama is all about – erasing the stigma and encouraging moms to be brave.

After receiving such a great response, I feel I need to do more.  I want to give back to mamas.  I want to encourage self-care.  The first step in achieving this mission is launching this giveaway!  Whether you’ve experienced postpartum depression or not, this giveaway is for you, mama!  You work hard and you deserve all of this awesomeness.  I’m excited to be giving away this ultimate package of (just for mama) goodies to one special mama:

  2. Thanks for sharing your struggles with PPD. I know sooo many moms that have struggled with this. I had depression before having children, so although it’s not the same, I know how it feels to some degree. I know a lot of the moms that have struggled have found so much support and help by joining other mom groups such as MOPS or other mommy play date groups. As hard as it is to admit you are barely holding your head above water, having other women around you who can help you swim is so life giving. Keep up the great work!

    1. It’s comments like this that make it all worth it! Thanks so much for your words of kindness and support, Amelia! I’d be forever grateful if you helped spread awareness by posting your own #howsmama photo and entering the giveaway. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. What a wonderful campaign. PPD is so isolating, and a simple, “How are you really doing?” really could open up a door for a mama to talk about what she’s going through. That gift basket is amazing! It is going to be a huge blessing to whoever wins it.

    1. Thanks for your sweet words of support, Amanda. Have you entered yet? I’d love for you to be a part of the #howsmama movement!
