Survive Cold + Flu Season like a Mom Boss | 2 must-haves for sick kids

Back-to-school season is upon us and unfortunately, in addition to all the fun and excitement (school clothes shopping, pumpkin spice lattes, etc.), that means cold and flu season is also lurking around the corner.  It seems that no matter how many precautions we take, it’s inevitable that our kids will get sick.

Continue reading to discover my tips for surviving this cold and flu season like a {mom} boss.  Do you have any additional must-haves?  How do you survive the dreaded sick season?

The 3 Items that Help us Survive Cold and Flu Season:

Kinsa to the Rescue!

If your kids are anything like mine, they’re squirmy little worms who despise having their temperatures taken!  We love our Kinsa thermometer, which reads temperatures in a matter of seconds.  It connects to your smartphone and has an app where you can track temps and symptoms, too.  I love this feature.  It helps me keep a record to look back on at doctor’s appointments when my mom brain kicks in.Kinsa thermometer

Pedialyte Freezer Pops

We always have Pedialyte Freezer Pops in our house.  At the first sign of fever or diarrhea, I give one to my kids.  Not only do they relieve dehydration, but they’re a special treat for my poor sick babies.  I almost feel like I’m tricking them into taking medicine!

Whenever my kids have any aches, pains, or chills, I bring out my secret weapons: microwavable cozies.  We have a collection of these stuffed animals and they seem to be just what the doctor ordered whenever somebody is sick.  They also help my littles ones sleep, because they’re stuffed with lavender!

Do you have any cold and flu season must-haves?  Any family secrets to making your little ones feel better?

    1. That is the worst! How are they for nail clippings? I keep hoping that will get easier soon (mine are 1 and 4).

    1. So true! I don’t know how many times I’ve bought cheap thermometers that tell me my temp is like 95 degrees… that can’t be right!
